Here’s another cute food treat that’s yummy and healthy too! Your kids will have fun placing the colorful fruits on the plate and creating a tropical picture using fruit!
gather your ingredients:
for each fruit plate (1 serving) you’ll need:
1 large banana (not too ripe!)
28 to 30 mandarin orange or clementine segments (about 1/2 of a 15 oz. can of mandarin oranges, drained well)
1 to 2 kiwis, sliced lengthwise and cut into wedges
4 to 6 almonds
putting the fruit plate together:
Slice banana in half lengthwise
Adult: place long halves of banana on plate and cut into little bite size pieces…
kids: place oranges on the bottom of plate to create a little island oasis…
place kiwis at the top of the plate, around tops of banana “tree trunks” to create “palm leaves”
place almond “coconuts” up by the palm leaves for the finishing touch!
Time to eat!
