Are you ready for some sweet, gooey, chocolaty decadence with sprinkles on top? You’ve come to the right place. The cuties have been busy cooking up sweetness in the kitchen in the form of a giant skillet cookie that’s so rich it’s gonna knock your socks right off. Enjoy slightly warm with a big glass of milk!

You will notice a couple quirks in this particular post because I (Melissa aka “Gramma”) have been such a busy bee I forgot to bring any sort of backdrop with me today… So yes, that’s a skookie sitting on a sidewalk (pictured above.)

The second thing I forgot to do is to take the eggs and milk out of the fridge before I took the “gather your ingredients” photo. So, please remember to add them to your skookie, even though they’re not in the ingredients photo 🙂 Sheesh!

1 skookie serves 12 people

gather your ingredients and cooking items:

skookieingredients

1 (10 inch) cast iron skillet, oiled with vegetable oil

1 large Ziploc bag

2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 cup real, unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs, lightly beaten

2 Tablespoons milk

1 and 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

rainbow sprinkles

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Oil a 10 inch cast iron skillet with vegetable oil. Place flour, soda, salt and sugars in a large Ziploc bag. Remove as much of the air from the bag as possible and let your kids mix the ingredients together by squishing the bag several times, until well blended. Pour dry ingredients into a big bowl. Add softened butter, eggs, vanilla and milk. Using clean hands, let the kiddos moosh the dough until all ingredients are evenly incorporated…

Add chocolate chips and continue with the mooshing until the chips are evenly distributed.

Transfer cookie dough to prepared skillet and flatten it into a cookie…

scatter rainbow sprinkles all over the top of the skookie…

Bake for 25 to 40 minutes, or until skookie is golden brown.

Cool for 15 to 20 minutes before slicing into wedges and serving

The cookie will continue to harden as it cools. It will still be very soft and ooey gooey after cooling for 20 minutes.

YUMMY!
